At the Manor

"I got a book or two." She said pointing to two rather thick books on the conter, I couldn't think of anything else." She said sadly.

"This house is full of books, I read a lot." Shellie told her "Once you finish those you are welcome to any one of them, of course they are mainly in foreign languages but there are plenty in English too." A century of life gave you plenty of time to stockpile books.

Skylar walked out of the kitchen again, deciding he probably needed a shirt on.

Laey nodded and smiled. "Thank you." She said picing uo her books and walked out to the liveing room. She sat on the sofa and sat looking at the books not yet opening one. She looked thoughtful.

Emma eventually woke up and got out of bed. She decided to change her clothes and walked over to her closet. She looked through the clothes and decided on wearing a small pruple dress that came up a little higher than her knees. After she changed she came downstairs and went into the kitchen and got a cup of animal blood then went into the living room and sat down next to Lacey. "hello", she said smiling slightly at her.

Lacey was pulled out of her thoughts, and looked at Emma."Hello." She replyed Out of habit she was gonna say good morning, but that wouldn't suit the time of day. "How are you?" She asked instead, She moved her books off of her lap and on to the couch next to her. She had a small smile on her face. Emma was the first vampire she gotten compeltely use to here. She didn't know why. She was used to all the vampires here now, well all wxpect Marcus, she hadn't seen much of him, and didn't really know what he was like. All she knew is that he spent alot of time with Tina. And she remeber the day she came here, appartely that was the day that everyone found out He was Tina's mate. She also noticed that Amu didn't like him, at frist, now Amu seemed to geting used to him. Lacey's always noticed the small things like that.

"I'm fine", Emma said and took a sip of her drink. "How about you?", she asked.

Lacey paused. "I'm fine, thank-you." She said. She looked down atherself. She was wearing a pair of Emma's jeans, and one of her tanktops. She had asked Emma to borrow some clothes the day before. Lacey was small, so the clothes were slightly big on her, but it didn't bother her.

Emma had noticed that her clothes were slightly big on Lacey. 'I'll go get her some clothes that fit her better later', she thought. She took another sip from her drink then noticed the books next to Lacey. "What're you reading", she asked curiously.

"Oh, one book is a colltion of classics" She said picking up one of the rather thick books. She flipped open to a random pages. She just happened to open to a page in her favorite classic. Great Expectations. After glanceing at the page and reading a few sentences she closed it and picked up the other one, it was coltion of fariy tales. She flipped to a random page. She opened to the end of the little mermaid, she readthe last few lines where the little mermaid truned into sea foam. She always like these types of fariytales more then the disney vreisons. Maybe because she knew not everything had a happy ending. Altrough she felt a tad sorry for the mermaid in this vresion, but she saw a hidden meaning in this. Love will not always be retruned, the heart can be tricked, and falling in love with someone of a diffrent race can end in death, and heart ach, and Lacey knew this more then anyone. She herself was a victem of this. Her father was a vampire, while her morther was a human. Her morther was killed when Lacey was only a small girl. And why? Becaise some of the other vampires didn't like the fact that their coven leader's heart was taken by a human. It hurt her father deeply when he found her morther dead broken body. He had broken down and cried. He cried the most when he was asleep. When Lacey was a small girl, she sleept vampire hours, she would sleep with her father, because he was worried about them attacking her. She would never get asleep because he would start cring when he fell asleep. This had scared her the first time she saw it, when she was little her father was never the one to show emtion. He never broke down when he was awake.

Emma nooded and looked at the book when she picked it up. She finished her drink and stood up and went into the kitchen and cleaned it and put it away. She came out and looked at Lacey. "I'm going to go read some of my book for a while", she said and started walking to the satirs. "If I don't see you again before you go to sleep, I'll see you tomorrow", she added and went up to her room.

Amu had wandered upstair. She walked past Tina's door and paused. She knew Marcus was in there. She resisted her urge to barge in and instead kept walking towards her room. She still couldn't stand Marcus, and having him living here made her uncomfortable and tense, but she was slowly beginning to understand him, though she would never admit it, not even to herself.

Shellie finished what she was doing in the kitchen and walked back upstairs. She sat next to Jason on her bed and pulled a book off of her bedside table. She began to read it slowly, Jason was playing with her hair which caused a major distraction while she tried to read so she read the same sentence several times over.

Skylar had found a shirt and walked back down the hallway. He say Amu in her room and smiled "Hey there" he greeted.

Marcus stepped out of Tina's room. Tina would wake up soon. He was never in there when she woke up, so didn't know.

LAcey nodded. "Good night."

A few moments later she was sitting on her own bed, reading some of trhe fariytales.

Emma sat in her room for a little while and read some of her book. After a while she put her book away and went downstairs. She went outside and started heading for town.

Amu had just walked into her room and was about to close the door when she saw Skylar.

"Hey," she said with a small smile, standing in the doorway.

"Would you like to be alone?" Skylar asked, his smile was small and courteous as he watched her.

Amu just shook her head.

"It doesn't matter. I was just going to read a book or something," She said with a small smile as she stepped to the side to allow him to come in if he wanted to. She heard Marcus come out of Tina's room, and frowned slightly.

After a while Emma reached the town, and walked around trying to find a store that was still open. She found one and looked around through the clothes.

Skylar smiled at her and walked in the room. He looked around her room quickly, he stood just inside the doorway not wanting to intrude on anything.

Amu closed the door behind him, laughing slightly.

"You can come in all the way," she said. "I'm always in your room, after all."

"True. I've just always been told to be respectful of a woman's personal space." Skylar told her. He walked further into the room slowly.

Amu smiled softly as she watched him.

"Well, I don't mind," she said simply, walking over to her bed and sitting down, picking up the book she had been reading and setting it in her lap, before looking up at him.

Skylar sat down next to her "Go ahead and read. I'll just watch you" he said smiling at her. He really didn't mind it.

Amu nodded, and looked back down at the book. But after a few minutes, she found she couldn't focus. She glanced at him, smiling slightly.

Skylar smiled back at her boyishly. "Am I distracting you from your book?" he asked.
